DIY Escape Room (Activity Kit)

DIY Escape Room (Activity Kit)

Are you looking for a fun activity to do at home?  This week, we will have FREE, DIY Escape Room kits available for families to pick up from the library and do at home.

Theme: Choose Your Own Adventure or Make Your Own

Did you miss out one of the kits this fall? Choose from one of our previous kits, or try to make your own:

  • Alien Exscape: Escape from an alien planet by using the clues to hack into the alien computer.
  • Birthday Party: It's a Puzzle Party! Get clues from your birthday cards to open the presents and win your prize.
  • Spy Mission: Crack the safe of Dr. Wordless to stop his evil plan. Mr. Mole has left clues around the office that only you can solve.
  • Make It Yourself: Really! We give you the answer, the timer, and some materials to make up your own, original escape room for your family.

Only register once per family.  The kits are recommended for ages 6-12, but they are created to have the whole family participate.

  • Many of the games will require a computer to load the countdown screen and enter passwords
  • If you cannot access a computer, the answers will be given for you to incorporate/hide as you see fit
  • Instructions are included with various ways of using the kit to create your escape room

Kits will be available for pick-up from Feb. 8-14. To schedule a pick-up time, please call us at 515-967-3881 or scheudle it on our website: https://altoona.libcal.com/calendar/curbside If you do not schedule a pick-up in that time frame, your kit may be given to another patron.

Registration is open to Altoona and rural Polk County residents 4 weeks before the event. Registration will open to the general public 3 weeks before the event.
